Is it legal in MA to hire somebody without license to do insulation?
This is a church building in MA and we need to add one layer of insulation to the existing R-19 insulation. We got quotes from licensed contractors, and also evaluated the option of using two church brothers who are willing to do the same job, which would be a lot cheaper. These two brothers have done this type of work before, but they don’t pocess any insulation license. Is it legal to hire them to do this work for us in MA? and what kid of risk involved? By the way, they are willing to sign a liability waiver form.
