Why can’t I get Direct TV for my apartment?
I want some information from anyone who has any knowledge of disputes between apartment owners/contractors and Direct TV. I recently ordered direct tv only to find out on the day of installation that I can’t get Direct TV because there is a dispute between the Apartment Owner/Contractor and Direct TV. I called Direct TV and they said that they can’t install because the owners/contractor won’t let them do what is necessary to get the best signal and that drilling holes into apartments might be the solution sometime. I called the owners/contractor and they said that they are willing to install the dish only if they put it where they want it. What is really going on here? Dish Network is willing to cooperate with the apartment owner/contractor but direct tv is not. The apartment owner has access to the control box. Something smells fishy. Either it’s direct tv, or the apartment owner/contractor. What’s going on?
Nothing is fishy. Attachments to a building are at the discretion of the building owner, not a renter. It’s very normal for apartment dwellers to be denied satellite service because they do not have the freedom to install equipment on portions of the building that they are not renting.
