I’ve always been into Lego. But my twins were bought some k’nex last birthday (they were 4) and they were able to be much more creative with it. It was so easy to put together. They didn’t follow the instruction but were able to make things themselves. they had some junior meccano but it was as easy to use or as versatile. you could only make the model on the instructions. So there Christmas wish list has K’nex on. Even their two year old brother has ago with it. But when they are older they will be able to follow the instructions.

What is the best way to document the progress of a construction site?

I would like to document the construction of a house from three points of view. In my mind, the perfect solution would be a battery operated digital camera that is made to be left outdoors. I would be able to mount it top a post or tree, then set a timer so that the camera would take a picture at a designated time each day in full color at a somewhat decent resolution. I would then be able to pop out a media card or something to download the pics from time to time. Does a camera like this exist? I found something similar that was motion activated, but the images are black and white. Please help!!!!

Our 3rd year Anniversary is on monday what should I get my Husband?

Next monday is me and my husbands 3rd Anniversary. I didn’t really have any money to get him anything for fathers day which I feel really bad about. But I really appreciate him alot for everything that he does for our family. He is such a good dad and husband. I really love him alot and I want to get him something really cool for our Anniversary. What do you think I should get him? He is a Construction Worker so he loves tools and stuff like that. He doesn’t hunt or fish, hates golf and football. He just loves being with us and hanging with his 2 kids. Any ideas I will love. Thanks alot!!!!!
p.s. i don’t have that much money to spend. So cheaper the better but with alot of thought. Thanks guys!

make him a nice homemade dinner maybe take some old pics of your guys family growing up over the past few years and make a dvd on the computer of have the kids make pictures of things they remember or special things you all have done together

What’s the kids book about three construction workers and an old lady with a rose garden?

The three workers had to put an interstate through the lady’s house and she showed them her roses – different colors, I think, and each color reminded the workers of their own grandmother’s roses… so they build the road around her house instead of knocking it down. Anyone remember this book? Early 1980s, though it could have been published before then…

Lego – the Worlds Favorite Toy for 70 Years

I don’t know about you buy I had Lego when I was a kid. And everyone else I know seems to have owned a set as well. And what’s more my kids have it. Yes, for over 70 years now, Lego has been one of the biggest selling toys in the world. I don’t know whether it’s the vibrant colors, or just the sheer versatility of the stuff, after all there’s not many toys that can be made into hundreds of other toys and never goes out of fashion. It’s fun, its educational and its even relatively cheap – you can buy a small set for only a few dollars – although the sky is the limit for some sets.

Lego was first produced in 1934 in Billund, Denmark by a former carpenter called Ole Kirk Kristiansen. He created his first prototypes and named them “leg godt” – which is Danish for “Play good”, or as we would say “play well”. This soon became Lego – and a legend was created. It was just after the Second World War in 1949 that the familiar plastic brick with four or eight studs, which allowed them to be joined together, first appeared. Initially, it was only made for sale in Denmark, but Kristiansen had bigger plans for his creation. Lego soon spread throughout the world and nowadays, its hard to find a country where you can’t buy it.
Lego has always reflected contemporary events with special editions frequently being released. The technology has also moved on considerably and the Techniks range is more like an engineering project than a simple plastic block. You can construct anything from cars to planes to Ferris wheels, al with lights and moving parts run by electric motors. A far cry from the simple building blocks indeed.

Of course, where Lego has recently exploded in popularity is via a series of very clever big-budget movie tie ins. You can now buy Indiana Jones Lego sets, Star Wars Lego and even Batman has made an appearance. Expect to see many more of these licensing deals in the future.

Finally, of course, Lego has been brought right up to date with the recent addition of video games for a wide range of consoles. You can get them for PC’s, Xbox, Playstations, PSP and Nintendo machines. These new additions ensure that Lego will be one of the best known toy brands for generations to come.
