I am trying to find craft instructions for a globe made of construction paper circles?

back in 1978 I was teaching a bibile school class, and we made these cool spheres out of circles of construction paper. we drew sqares on them wrote a scripture on each one, folded the flaps up and stapled or glued the flaps to make a “globe” or “sphere” I want to make these with my kids, but can’t find a pattern anywhere. HELP

Who is responsible…new construction builder or insurance?

Recently built a new construction home in Indiana. Closed Jan 18th. We have recently had bad weather causing several inches of ice and snow. I have noticed several stress marks around one of the kitchen can lights…almost displaying a pencil like marks on the wall and ceiling. We have noticed a loud “BOOM” coming from the attic that happens periodically in different areas. There is some ice damning going on. I attempted to clear the ice from the downspouts and gutter areas. I have not been able to check in the attic yet to determine if there is other damage occurring. The yard has not been completed and there are many spots around the foundation area that are left exposed. They will be finishing the yard in the spring.

The weather related is the insurance.

The builder should fix the can lights.

The sound in the attic needs to be checked. It is likely air in the plumbing, but it could also be heater ducts that are not insulated right.

What can be used to paint poster board?

I have to build a box for a school project and I am using poster board. What can I use to color it? Should I just take Construction Paper and then draw over it?

You can cover it in paper, or you can use acrylic or craft paint. Watercolor will make the poster board bow outwards and warp, and oil paint is expensive and will take a long time to dry. Spray paint should also work so long as you don’t put it on too thick, otherwise it is likely to make the poster board warp as well.

If you want to use paper, you could also use wraping paper, and spray adhesive to glue it on.

Or just buy poster board in the color you want it to be to start with.

When considering packing furniture for a move or storage many people think about quilted moving blankets as a first choice.  That is absolutely right, but what will happen after you done with the move?

Are home builders responsible for removing debris from construction site after work is completed?

We just had a home built in Albuquerque New Mexico and have a lot of debris. We are finding electrical prongs, new and old nails, large bolts, tar paper, dry wall, plastic, cigarette butts, tile, broken glass, large chunks of cement and stucco, etc, in our back yard. This is just on the surface. We have not even tried to dig down yet. Some of it is very old and could not have been used in the construction of my home. I think my lot was used as a dump for the construction of other homes before we bought. The builder sent someone out with a leaf rake but it did no good. It is still heavy with debris. Should the home builder be responsible for removing it? I found something on the EPA website called title 40 referring to the proper storage and disposal of waste. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

What is the best way to document the progress of a construction site?

I would like to document the construction of a house from three points of view. In my mind, the perfect solution would be a battery operated digital camera that is made to be left outdoors. I would be able to mount it top a post or tree, then set a timer so that the camera would take a picture at a designated time each day in full color at a somewhat decent resolution. I would then be able to pop out a media card or something to download the pics from time to time. Does a camera like this exist? I found something similar that was motion activated, but the images are black and white. Please help!!!!

The best solution to have a clean finish project at the end of construction is to prevent staining during the Construction Project. It is important to protect the GFRC during storage, setting and after it is installed. GFRC should be stored off the ground on non-staining planks or pallets. The GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) storage site should be out of the way of heavy construction traffic. If the GFRC is going to be stored for an extended period of time, it should be kept on pallets and covered with nonstaining tarps or plastic. Once it is installed, GFRC pilasters, columns, windowsills, panels etc. should be protected with plastic nonstaining material during the remaining construction.

After construction, final wash down may be needed. Use of acids or brick cleaners is not recommended. The most common stain from construction is dirt. Dirt can be removed from GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) by scrubbing with a mild detergent and water. When other stains are encountered, the most important step is to identify the stain and its cause. Any treatment used to clean GFRC should be tested in a small inconspicuous area prior to cleaning the main units.

Power washing and sandblasting or not recommended procedures for cleaning GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete). Metal fiber brushes should not be used for scrubbing GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) they may scar the surface, and small bits of metal residue from the brush, left on the GFRC may later rust or corrode and cause staining.

11 and 12 years old? MMMM. Good luck. They want to do what their friends are doing. But if you can: what I told my kids at that age: I want you to draw me a picture of your favorite word ( include the words: NOT THE WORD ITSELF). Just have them draw you a picture of what that word means to them. Kept mine busy for hours.
