If you’re going to ask me, how many times I’ve seen a home built without the electrical conduit pipe, that will play an important role later on in the home building process, I would have to take my shoes off and start counting on my toes. It happens every once in awhile and when it does, it’s not a good thing.
When I say, don’t forget your electrical conduit. That means that you should contact the electrician, before you pour the concrete and make sure that they don’t need to run anything, in your concrete foundation slab. If the electrical contractor says that he can’t think of anything, that might not be a good sign. Try to get them out to the job and go over the project together.
Once the concrete is poured, there won’t be any turning back and any repairs will require a lot of work and no matter how they are repaired, the structural strength of the new concrete slab will never be the same.
Some of the biggest problems that I have found over the years have been, when a kitchen island is going to be installed and this area will require electricity. If the home builder is going to install a stove, oven, dishwasher or any electrical outlets and switches, make sure that you have the proper sized electrical conduit that will be required, for the amount of wires that you are going to use.
I have seen the electrical contractors install the conduit, only later to find out that they had installed a conduit that was too small for the amount of electrical wires that they needed.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea, to contact another person with building experience, to check your electrical plan, before pouring the concrete slab. Sometimes two minds work a little better than one.

In by gone days all a contractor had to do was give the customer good quality and good service and he/she would be set. Then set back and let your customers do your selling for you. They would tell a friend and then that friend would tell a friend. Your phone would be ringing off the hook. I remember as an Architectural designer some days I would have up to four people wanting to schedule appointments for designs. Those days are long gone! But Fear Not! Click Here For Help
