There is construction going on by my house and a tracter trailer truck hit my car on Monday???????????
The company told me that they were going to speak to the driver who was driving the truck and try to resolve the issue. (I’m assuming cut me a check for the damage) Now all of a sudden the driver is saying that he wasn’t in the truck, when the incident occured that I hit him which is complete BULLSHIT! What do I do now? Do I go through insurance and say i got hit but don’t know who hit me? Won’t my insurance go up if I put in a claim no matter what type of claim it is? Or should I go through insurance and give my ins company there info, I have the plate numbers and the company contact information, or should I just pay out of pocket for the damages? Or should I sue them? Is it too late? This is my first time going thorough something like this.
I do have full coverage. So still…what should I do, call it in to the insurance company as a hit and run…or what?
First of all, every single driver that is inside of a company vehicle is there and it is reported. No one just jumps into ANY company car, whether it is a GEO or a SEMI. That company is well aware of who was in that semi truck that day, date and location. They are lying to you and you still have time to contact the police and file a report. I handle the claims for my retail petroleum company. You need to contact the authorities ASAP and give them ALL of the information that you have.They can investigate a hit and run. With a police report it may not hit your insurance as bad.
