The Importance of Construction Safety Training
Few would argue that Construction Safety Training is a vital component of assuring the safety and well-being of all those involved on a Construction Project. It?s not enough to say that Workplace Health & Safety is your number one priority and have all written out without actively enforcing it on the worksite.
Training your workers and even yourself in the fundamentals of Construction Safety will mean that there are no ?ifs? or ?buts? around the importance of safety.
Who Needs To Undertake Training
Another name used to describe Construction Safety Training is induction training because it is training that needs to be undertaken before setting foot on a construction site. Nevertheless, it is not necessary for everyone involved in the construction project has to go undergo such training. This is because it depends on the nature of the involvement.
These people can be divided into 2 groups. The first group contains those who must undergo training while the second group contains those who may need to undergo training. It must be remembered that the necessity of undergoing induction training is also stipulated in the Construction Safety Plan.
People who are required to undertake training include:
- Employees
- Self-employed people
- Managers
- Supervisors
- Professional consultants that spend time on site
- Engineers and surveyors that carry out preparation work
- Truck drivers that help assemble structures on site

- Cleaners who work on site
People who may be required to undergo training include:
- Visitors
- Couriers
- Professional observing work
- Delivery work
- Students not undertaking construction work
If you are sure as to whether someone should undergo induction training, it?s probably to decide on the basis of how involved they are in the project. The best way to find out whether someone needs to training is by evaluating the level of risk that they would be under if they received no training at all. Construction Health and Safety is such a important issue that it must be treated seriously and implemented on your worksite.
Where To Find Safety Training
Depending on what Australian state or territory you come from, your local Government typically provides you with information regarding how to find the appropriate safety training for a construction site. One example is the Western Australian Government site which offers some great and helpful information on Construction Induction Training in that state. If you are not from the state of Western Australia, a good idea would be to find information from your own state or territory.

A Serious Joke! Christians, Atheists, have you seen the new Construction Company called Evolution?
I don’t know if they are just a local company but i found their name amusing, i assume their policy is to set up site, offload all the building materials then leave them unmanned for an undetermined length of time and see what “happens” to fall together (its a fundamental stable state you see!) Its a great idea cos once the first house falls together by itself it’ll then go on and multiply into lots of other little exact replica houses. They will make a very good profit indeed!!

I have been experimenting myself for years! Here is where my research has led me -
I go shopping each week for all sorts of groceries; meats, vegetables, spices, pasta, broth, bread, as well as a few other items. When home, I bring all inside and place them on the counter top. Then wait.
Now, I’m not looking for anything fancy. A soup or even a sandwich would bring much happiness and satisfaction. Maybe a meatloaf (doesn’t have to be real tasty, either – I’m not fussy).
Nothing happens (as of yet) so I end up putting everything away. I am not ready to draw a conclusion. Patience is a virtue, and I want to give this test enough time to have definitive results.
I will report back if there is any change.
